So on top of The Supper Club I have been sharing cake recipes and the like over on my own blog Sophielikescake.com for a couple of years now. I originally shared the recipe for this cake over there but after looking at the rather empty recipe section of TSC I thought hell, why not share it here too?

I will be lazy however and make you click this link HERE in order to get the recipe. Don't worry, you're only going to be transferred to SLC, it's not dodgy I promise. My computer almost dies every time I go to upload a photo so this saves a lot of pain on both our behalfs!

I made this cake a second time for my Mum to take into work for a shared lunch shin dig and it went down a treat, she barely got any! If the three layers look daunting then just make the recipe in two 20cm tins and cook for a few minutes longer until a skewer comes out clean. Much simpler to put together and with a safer centre of gravity!

Aubergine and Goats Cheese Crostini

This recipe is adapted (more like guessed) from the eatery that inspired our Venetian tapas in Shared Plates. It consists of a simple whip of goats feta atop a toasted slice of ciabatta and finished off with a slice or two of oven roasted aubergine. Simple yet very delicious.

Garlic Smashed Pea and Smoked Mackerel Toasts

Smashed peas on toast or the 'poor man's avocado' as we like to call it is a household favourite. I love it for breakfast underneath a runny fried egg. I always get great comfort knowing my freezer is filled with at least three bags of peas just in case we suffer a national pea shortage crisis.
